Environmental Commitment

A commitment to responsible sourcing and recycling

these days, we all recognise that we have a responsibility to reduce our impact on the environment.
our manufacturing site in telford, shropshire holds the Bes 6001 standard for responsible sourcing of construction products.

research has shown that Pvc-U products have a lifecycle of 35 years and can be recycled up to 10 times. With a total possible lifecycle of 350 years Pvc-U really is one of the most sustainable materials available in the home improvement industry.

Products to help to reduce your carbon footprint

Just as important as the manufacturing and recycling aspect, is how your purchase performs during its lifespan. The swish window system is one of the most energy efficient window systems currently available. Our standard double glazed windows have a multi-chamber design that makes it easy to achieve a Window energy rating of A+, the highest rating there is and by choosing our triple glazed windows, it is possible to achieve a U value of just 0.8. (in comparison, a standard single glazed window typically has a U value of 4.8.)

About Window Energy Ratings and U-values
Window energy ratings are the window industry’s equivalent of the energy ratings you see on white goods
such as washing machines and freezers. A+ rated windows are the most energy efficient windows and g the least energy efficient. Building regulations require all new windows to be c rated or above.

U-values indicate how much heat a window loses. the
lower the U-value, the less heat it loses and the more energy efficient it is.

Double-glazed windows have two sheets of glass with a gap between them, usually about 16mm, to create an insulating barrier that keeps heat in. This is sometimes filled with gas. Triple-glazed windows have three sheets of glass, but aren’t always better than double-glazed windows: to choose the most energy-efficient window look for the BFRC rating.
